Hi Dianne - No, not at all. Many women have microcalcifications. It's only when they appear in a pattern or a cluster that they indicate cancer MIGHT be developing; they're almost like a "shadow" of cancer growing. If you have microcalcifications, the doctor may want to keep an eye on them to make sure they remain scattered, that's all. Hope this helps - PJH
