Can Abraxane be administered by home infusion?

We are advised that Abraxane must be administered within 2 hours of mixing. I.e., when the lyophilyzed Abraxane is made into solution by adding saline and then put into a 500 cc IV bag of NS, we are advised by one home infusion service that they will not do it because the  solution must be administered within 2 hours of mixing.  I am a physician (Breast Surgical Oncologist) with experience and facility with reconstituting drugs and administering them under sterile conditions.  Is there some reason why I could not reconstitute the Abraxane at home for delivery to the patient either by myself or by a home infusion nurse?

Dr. Bruck, I think you have the wrong idea about who/what this site addresses. We're breast cancer survivors, not medical personnel. We wouldn't have any idea how to answer this question. But thanks for seeking us out, anyway - and I hope you find the answer to your question. -PJH
