Q: i have a sore on my breast

I've ahd a sore on my left breast for about three weeks-- it started outlooking like a pimple or bug bite, now it has like a white ring around it and kind of like a scab but there is like a small hole in the center where the 'scab" forms---- doyouthink this could be a cancer sore?

Hi - A sore on your breast is most probably not cancer. There's a rare form of cancer, Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC) that has infection-like symptoms—red, hot, swollen breast; a rash or itchiness; a sore that won't heal—but as I said, it's rare. Nevertheless, why not set your mind at ease by checking with the doctor? (S)he can help you figure out what's going on, and treat it. Good luck - PJH

It sounds as though it may possibly be a boil?  A boil is like a cystic pimple or abssess that is filled with yucky fluid just like a pimple on your face would be.  One difference however is that a boil or cystic type acne is very painful - it can be a hard marble like thing at the surface of your skin, that bursts open and scabs over on it's own or it can be popped by squeezing it or sticking it with a sterilized needle.  It could also possible be an ingrown hair (do you see a hair in the center?)  Once it pops and all the fluid is out and it scabs over it should be feeling a lot better.

If you go see a doctor they can confirm what it actually is and also prescribe an antibacterial antibiotic, which will help clear it up super fast - plus your mind will be at ease knowing for sure what it is.  But it doesn't sound like cancer.

Hope I was able to help a bit.
