Q: Do doctors usually place markers after a core biopsy if they suspect cancer

Hi - it's pretty standard practice to put a marker in no matter what; I wouldn't read anything negative into it, OK? Good luck - PJH

My doctor usually put a marker in so that if it's benign they won't biopsy the same spot again in the future or if it's malignant they know exactly where it is.  Good luck!
