Debbie, without your pathology report being completed, and without sampling lymph nodes, are you sure you're going to have chemo? Seems to me that would have been a hard call to make at this point... However, if you've already been told you're going to have chemo, I'd assume they'll get you in ASAP after the radiation. They'd probably give you a week or so to recover (if any recovery time is needed; not sure with mammosite how much it affects you), and then get you going. Good luck - PJH

I didn't have Mammosite since mine was a recurrence, I had 31 daily radiation sessions.  Half-way through I went from being tanish to red.  My medical oncologist told me that I would have to wait AT LEAST one month for chemo as both radiation and chemo can effect your bone marrow.  He also said that he wouldn't start chemo till my burn was gone.  My last radiation was Aug 6th.  My skin has peeled over and I look ok, close to original color.  I see my chemo doc at the end of the month and will have to do blood work first then we'll see what he says.

So keep in mind that even though mammosite is different, you should still have the wait due to the impact on bone marrow and WBC - and if you're burnt you will have to wait till it clears.  Hope that helps some.
