Debbie, if you're talking about using the Oncotype-DX test to supplement the FISH test in determining your HER2 level, apparently the Oncotype is more accurate than the FISH. If you're asking about using the Oncotype to determine if you should have chemo, it depends - if you're early stage breast cancer, ER/PR-positive, no lymph node involvement, then it's an appropriate test for you to request. Debbie,.. if your fish comes back negative , and you are estrogen/pro + you should have an oncotype done to help clarify therapy. When you have an indeterminate Her2

they do the F.I.S.H. to clarify positive or negative (Her2)..if neg ..then go for oncotype ...think I have that right ... I was indeterminate Her2... negative F.I.S.H... so oncotype Dx then became a option... if you are postive Her2 chemo is standard treatment...good luck, hope for negative!
