Monday, October 26, 2009 fearful of doctors asks

Q: bad breast pain, 2 weeks turned to itching

severe breast pain for 2 weeks. odd indentration near nipple.  pain now turned to itching. awaiting  final results of mamm. sent to surgeon due to fast onset of pain, and thickening  felt by gyn. doc. Surgeon unconcerned, " pain normal put ice on it" he acknowledged thickening and said its nothing.  breasts very fibrosistic. Vitamin d very low. on supplement for one week. i am 50 and have been reading about ILC doesnt this start as a thickening? Hes missing something. Help!!!

Hi - I hope by now your symptoms have abated, or you've gotten some help - via your own doctor, or a second opinion. Sorry we missed this question when you first asked it - that sometimes happens, unfortunately... Good luck - PJH

Go back to your GP and get a second opinion I had similar pain in my nipple and it turned out to be paget's disease of the nipple. A rare cancer of the milk ducts and nipple.Good Luck.
