should I be cautious about fertility drugs if I have 'probably benign' calcifications

questioner

Hi, I had a first mamogram at 41 and they discovered a small grouping of round calcifications. Birads-3. I went back six months later and nothing had changed. I was asked per protocol to come back again for my full mammogram.

Currently, I am considering going through the clomid challange and IVF. I am a little worried that if there is something 'starting up' and causing the calcifications, that the infertility drugs will accelerate this. Should I be concerned?

Hi - You should be concerned enough to have your OB/GYN or fertility doc get together with whoever has been keeping an eye on your calcifications, and discuss your situation. I wouldn't venture to give an opinion here, as it would be vastly uninformed compared to what your doctors can tell you. Good luck - hope everything works out well for you. PJH
