I'm going to start taxotere treatment next week, I'm diabetic taking insuline and pills.  What diet do you recomend to help with the side effects of the treatment and to increase my defense.

Hi Ms. Diaz: I wouldn't say there's any special diet you'd need for taxotere. You want to eat as healthy as possible, of course, but I don't think I'd change anything from your usual diet which, since you're working with diabetes, must be pretty controlled already. I'd stay away from alcohol... Other than that, it's more a matter of taking care of yourself and not exposing yourself to too many germs, since your white count will be low. Also, you'll probably be fatigued. That doesn't mean resting all day! A bit of exercise will help you feel better. For more info., take a look at our FAQS on taxotere. Good luck - PJH
