Hi,
I am 34 years old, stage II, grade III, 4 node positive breast cancer patient. Recently I had mastektomy on my right breast. There are 2 opinions regarding adjuvant chemo : TAC x 6 cycles or FEC x 4 cycles + T x 4 cycles (total 8)
What regimen is better for my case?
We're not oncologists and can't make recommendations on specific drugs. This link will give you more info on chemo drugs. The choice here is between taking all of the drugs in a combo treatment six times versus dividing them. The FEC is basically equivalent to the AC in the TAC. Some doctors prefer to administer one drug at a time so that they know which drug is responsible if there are problems or which drug is responsible for a good response. Are you dealing with competing doctor recommendations? If so, I'd suggest asking each doctor to explain the benefits and risks of each plan. If there is no clear cut scientific evidence for which is better, make your choice based on which doctor is a better match for your needs.
