Hi Rina - Indeed, I'd ask for the Oncotype DX test before making a decision. If it's really not going to help much, you might just want to avoid AC + T (which is, actually, a very common and widely used "chemo cocktail.") Perhaps it's due to yor young age that the oncologist is recommending this? At any rate, sounds like you need to have a discussion with him/her before you proceed, OK? Good luck - PJH

Hello, Im Nicole. Im 27 and was also dx with stage 1 grade 3 cancer. I had a double mastectomy in May and started my AC in June. I had four treatments of that every other week. The thing I found most irritating with that is the shot they give you the day after chemo for your bone marrow. I was on New Lasta. That made my body ache for a few days and u just feel like you have no energy. After those four treatments were done I went on to Taxol. I have to now get 12 weekly doses of Taxol. Since the switch and no shot Ive been awesome. I started getting back into the gym and cant tell at all Im on chemo. Ive been really lucky overall with all my treatments and how Ive felt. Ive never gotten sick. I think mostly its been more emotional than physcial. Just the bald feeling and not having my breast kinda does something to a womans ego. So Im actually going for my 6th treatment today later on and then Ill have 6 left. I cant wait to be done with this crap. Have you decided or started your treatment yet? Well hope to talk to ya. Have a good weekend.

I have stage 1 grade 3 er/pr positive hert neg. I have been told since I'm inly 46 I need to do the chemo. primarily because the grade 3 means that the cancer was a fast growing type. So I guess chmo is best even if you are a stage 1 given the fact it's a grade 3.
