Sorry, Debbie, I've never heard of radiation affecting your teeth - only chemo. Your best bet would be to Google "breast cancer radiation dental poroblems" and see what turns up. I just did that myself, and didn't see any studies, although there's some anecdotal information about patients (not breast cancer patients) feeling that radiation had damaged their teeth.
Has your oncologist been able to shed any light on this? Does s/he belive that radiation might be respobnsible for your dental issues? That would be a big help as far as insurance clamis go. Good luck - PJH

HI AGAIN PJ,
WHY WOULD YOU THINK WORKING IN THE BRONX AS A PSYCHOLOGIST WOULD CAUSE STRESS (OF COURSE THIS IS A JOKE), I WAS GOING TO MENTION STRESS IN MY E-MAIL BUT SOME PEOPLE DON[T REALIZE THE TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF STRESS WE CARRY WHEN YOU CONSIDER LONG, TOUGH COMMUTES, IDIOTIC RULES, THE HEARTBREAK OF THE CHILDREN, AND ALWAYS FIGHTING FOR MORE TIME WITH THEM. JUST BY WORD OF MOUTH I HAVE HEARD OF THE RADIATION DENTAL CONNECTION. EVEN THE IMPLANT SPECIALIST BROUGHT UP THAT THE DIRECTION OF THE RADIATION BEAM CAN EFFECT THE TEETH. I WILL KEEP ON TRUCKING WITH THIS ISSUE AND AT THIS TIME MY HUSBAND AND I ARE TRYING TO COME UP WITH THE MONEY FOR THE IMPLANTS. THE PROBLEM IS, THAT OF COURSE ,NO RADIALOGIST WILL OWN UP TO THIS, THANKS AGAIN FOR MORE INFO, I WILL CALL SOME HOSPITALS TODAY. TAKE CARE AND HAVE A GREAT DAY. SPEAK TO YOU SOON. DEBBIE
