Just Diagnosed with Cancer? Chat with Experts

Wednesday, August 19, 2009 Daphne 1 asks

Q: For 4 weeks I have been having and ache in my right armpit and down my arm to my wrist.

I have an ache from my right armpit down my arm to my wrist, there's also a sensation of fullness or discomfort in my right breast.  I had saline breast implants 6 years ago but have had no problems since then. I have breast fed 4 children successfully and 1 of them since having implants. This has been going on for 4 weeks. I can't feel any lumps in my breast or under my arms. Should I be worried?

Daphne, I don't think you should worry; rather than worry, simply call the doctor and describe your symptoms, and/or make an appointment. While this doesn't sound like a breast cancer symptom, it could be hormonal, or you could be developing lymphedema for some reason... there's just no telling. So, since you've been experiencing this for longer than one menstrual cycle, it's best to see a doctor, OK? Good luck - PJH
