Q: leg pains

i just finished chemo of taxotere, carboplatin, and herceptin. After my 4th treatment ,i started to have severe burning pain in both thighs, along with neuropathy in fingers and feet. I started neurotin and it took away the burning in my thighs, now my calfs and thighs get horrible muscle cramps when i walk more than 50 feet. I have to sit down for about 3 minutes before this pain subsides. Will this ever go away ,i just want to be able to go places again.

Debbie, we never know how chemo will affect each of us individually. That said, we never know its long-lasting effects - so called "lasting effects" as opposed to side effects. Hopefully (and I'd expect) the severe pains will abate. I know women who have neuropathy for a good long time, but I haven't heard of very long-term pain. So, hope for the best.

Has anyone out there dealt with leg pain from chemo, and can give Debbie some advice? Thanks - PJH
