Hi - It's your white blood cells you're most concerned with, and there's not much you can do, diet-wise, to boost them (so far as I know). Please ask your doctor about getting Neulasta shots - that's what most women getting chemo do, to keep their WBC count up. Good luck with your chemo tomorrow - PJH

A food I ate during pregnancy and chemo that helped keep my red blood count up was Cream of Wheat (generic name:  farina).  Meat and beans are other high iron foods that help prevent anemia, but at times when my digestive system was queasy, they didn't appeal to me.  Cream of Wheat is very high in iron, and very easy to digest.  Of course, some people don't like hot cereals, but if you do, you might want to give it a try.  It wouldn't help overnight, of course.  As PJ says, diet doesn't impact white blood cell counts which also might be down from chemo.

Thanks ..Foot in mouth I will try to get that Cream of wheat (generic farina) I guess I can buy that in any herbal stores or organic stores like wholefoods. I love cereals with fresh fruits like berries, strawberries and banana in my cereals..I will try my best too maybe by sleeping early, the problem I sleep late (coz' I can't sleep as early as 9:00 p.m.) I sleep like 11:00 p.m. sometimes I woke up 2:00 and I can't sleep then. anyways, thank you soo much for all your help.

In the US Cream of Wheat is near the oatmeal in regular grocery stores.  Since Cream of Wheat is a brand name, I included the non-brand name in case it's called something else in other places.
