Q: what is the persentage rate of reoccurance of breast cancer if I stop taking the arimidex?

I am going on the 3rd month of treatment and had a double mascetomy.  The side effects are awful.  I would like to stop taking it but want to know where to find out research of reaccurnace if I stop

Sandy, ask your oncologist. Only s/he has all the information about your diagnosis necessary to provide this information. Sorry the Arimidex is so tough - ask your doctr if switching to Femara or Armoasin would be an option. Or even switching to tamoxifen, which doesn't come with the aching joints side effect. It's not quite as effective as Arimidex, but better than nothing at all, certainly. Good luck - PJH
