Carrie, I've contacted our expander expert, Angi, and she should be answering you within the next day. Thanks for your patience - PJH

The expander should be able to be filled to a larger size, if not all you should have to do is discuss with your surgeon that it's not large enough.  My original set wasn't big enough and he had no problem swapping mine out.  Expander can also be 'overfilled'  The largest expander I had placed, which I can't recall what the size was on it at the time, but my doctor overfilled it to 1200 cc's to ensure he had ample skin to enclose the new implant.  If he refuses to swap it to a bigger size, then see another doctor.  Don't feel like you are stuck with what he thinks you should have.  They misjudge sizes all the time.  Sometimes it's hard to tell until you get it in and see what it looks like.

Good luck to you!

Angi

I've had new incisions made, and old ones used again.  It's hard to say, but I think it all depends on if your original incision has healed or not.

Carrie.. I had 500cc expanders in, that the plastic surgeon over inflated to 650cc's and was able to put in the largest implant in silicone  800cc's.. implants look much different than expanders..and after the implants are in for a while..they fall a bit..the muscle stretches to acommodate the implant and they come out a bit more..does your doctor have any "after pictures"?
