Category:Raised GGT [ NON DRINKER ]

Raised Gamma whilst on cancer medication

I have a raised Gamma  [ GGT ]  since I went on Femera & Statins in Feb 08 following lumpectomy and radiotherapy. I do not consume alcohol but also have a genetic hyperliidaemia and believe that these drugs may have altered my liver enzymes. I have had a liver scan last week and bloods including liver tumour markers and I am waiting  to see my breast surgeon next week for the results of the bloods /scan.

I am a nurse and would welcome your opinion regarding the raise GGT. I was told the normal range is  [ 7 - 32 ] and mine was 178 and rising.

Thanks Maureen

Sorry, Maureen, this question is much too technical for me - and perhaps for the other women answering here as well. None of us is doctors or has formal medical training (I don't believe). This sounds like a question for a medical professional. Or  perhaps you could Google some more information? - PJH
