Q: Breast Implants

I am curretly going through breast reconstruction after a double mastectomy.  I'm close to having to make a decision on whether or not I should have permanant silicone or saline implants.  Does anyone have any suggestions which implant would be best for a mastectomy patient?

In my opinion, the silicone helps lend a more natural feel to the implant because they are gel based.  And in all honesty, I wasn't really concerned too much about getting silicone implants because they are so much better than they were 10 years ago.  When my doctor and I discussed type of implants, these are what he recommended.  What are your primary concerns about the implants?  Are you worried about potential leaks or are you just wanting something that feels natural?  I'd discuss it with your doctor and see what kind of implants he actually uses most often.

Good luck!
