I had my hair cut really short (about an inch) before my first chemo treatment, but when my hair started to fall out, it was still really messy. At that point, my husband cut it down to the scalp. By shaving it ahead of time, you are taking control of the process and sparing yourself the mess and trauma of hair loss. I can't think of a single reason why you shouldn't do this. I'm assuming someone will help you so that you don't cut yourself! Reply

I actually shaved my head after 2 treatments.  I picked a day where my son could shave it and my good friend from childhood had him shave her head as well.  Personally I think she always wanted to shave her head but used me as an excuse.

I did feel more in control rather than find it all over my pillow or on my clothes.  Best of luck, I bet you'll be beautiful.
