Q: I'm a 43 yr. woman and had a quarter size lump under my arm in my upper armpit come up suddenly.

I'm a 43 yrs. female and had a little bit bigger than a  quarter size lump come up under my right upper armpit more to the outter upper right area.I'm in perfect health and had a mammogram done a few months back. everything was ok. Thank GOD! It's not as visible now when I raise my arm but I can still feel it.It's never changed in size and has always been solid. It was painful to touch in the beginning but I did press on it fairly hard. It's been about 2 month's since I noticed it.It's not as noticable now as it use to be. What could this be? Thank you,

There's no telling what this is; the usual cause would be an infection, but 2 months seems a long time for an infection. While this doesn't sound like a typical breast cancer symptom, it still needs to be checked out; any change in your breasts or underarms that lasts longer than a month should be checked by a doctor. So get in to see someone, OK? Best of luck - PJH
