Q: would nueropothy be a side effect of arimidex

2 years ago I had a radical masectomy of left breast. Oncologists decided I did not require chemo or radiation. I have been on Arimidex. I am 72 years young, and have tested negative many times for diabetis and iron deficientcy. However I have been diagnosed with nueropothy in both hands & feet since taking the Arimidex. I take Gabapentin to ease the pain in my hands & feet. My question is: could this be a side effect of the Arimidex?

Gwen, while neuropathy isn't an "official" side effect of Arimidex, there are women who report experiencing it while taking Arimidex. So looks like you fall into that camp, unfortunately... Looks like you're going to have to make a quality of life decision. How much does the neuropathy bother me vs. how much is the Arimidex protecting me? Sigh... Good luck - PJH
