MY question: Should there be a hole not healed with grafting Material coming through ozzening after Breast Reconstruction? It has been a little over a year since I completed my breast reconstruction for a double Mastectomy (cancer was in the right breast) chose to have double because after biopsy there was earily signs of cancer cells in the left. However, the problem is that the doctor remover too much fat/skin from the left breast which left the skin very thin which caused the expanders to come through the skin causing a whole. When I report this to him he acted as if I was making it up, but once he was able to see it with his own eyes, he acted surprised. But assured me that he could repair it on the final treatment. So he arranged to use lab skin grafts to reinfource the hole, and build it up with fat from my side/back. I have to tell you I was a bit concern about this, but he assured me that he had used it before. Well, it has been over a year now, and there is a very small hole that just will not heal right near the nipple that he created. And you can see and feel the reinforced grafting trying to come throught the skin. What should I do? And is this normal to take so long to try to heal? Before you say speak with your doctor, I have to tell you I have. And the last words he said to me is you have to except that it is never going to be normail like it was before. I have excepted that, but I just don't think there should be a ozzening hole in my left breast a year after treament. Any information will be greatly appreciated!

Thank You PJ, And Happy New Year
I agree with you, I will make arrangement to speak with another doctor. There were so many mistaken with the P/S and the Surgeron who removed the cancer, that my family and I do not want me to go back to them. I will keep you up to date with the out come. Other than that all is well. I hope all is well with you and your family also.
