Amanda, you shoould always be concerned with any changes in your breasts. If they're tied to your period (i.e., any bumps or lumps or odd feelings come and go on a regular cycle), then almost certainly they're not a cancer symptom. However, if you feel a new lump or thickening that remains, it could be a simple cyst; a benign tumor; scar tissue; or breast cancer, among a number of other possibilities. My advice: absolutely don't panic, AND get it checked out. Why worry when you can put your fears to rest just by talking to a doctor? Good luck - PJH

I agree with PJ, every lump should be checked out.  It will give you pc of mind if it's just a cyst or more insight if it's something else.

What I did when I found my lump(s) I would circle them with a sharpie marker, so I could easily find it, track it & show my doctor where it was/is.  This is especially helpful if you have "lumpy" breast tissue like I did.

Good luck to you!
