PremPro. Is it the PremPro that caused the IDC? Please advise. I am having a Lumpectomy this coming Monday. Doctor did say that I can continue with Prempro but I am having second thoughts.

Maddy, the answer is - it depends. PremPro could very well have increased your breast cancer risk enough that you've been diagnosed with it. If you continue to take it, you'll almost certainly increase your risk of recurrence. But you have to consider quality of life. If you're absolutely miserable without it, is it worth risking more cancer? Maybe. Tough choice, I know, but one that many of us have to make. Wish I could say the PremPro is fine, keep taking it, but it's just not true; it's been shown to increase your risk. Good luck - PJH
