Hi - First of all, most women are now offered physical therapy post-mastectomy than in the past; getting back this range of movement definitely helps stave off shoulder and arm issues, including lymphedema. And many more hospitals and cancer centers have full-time lymphatic massage specialists, people who specialize in treating lymphedema, including massage, bandaging, and preventive sleeves and gloves. I think doctors in general are also more tuned in to the possibility of lymphedema, and offer more literature about it. So all of this helps. If you're asking if there's currently a magic bullet that cures it - no, there isn't. Massage is still the best therapy, with sleeves, gloves, and diligent protection of your affected arm the best preventive measures. Good luck - PJH
