Q: breast duct removal and exploration

have had nipple discharge for 2 years. Normally greenish, grey sometimes white.  Dr just decided it was time to do a duct removal.  I am very sore! my question is has anyone had this and know what are the chances it is cancer.  I have already had thyroid cancer 5 years ago and am nervous....

This doesn't sound like a typical scenario for breast cancer, Stephanie. Nipple discharge is usually hormonal; and when it turns out to be a breast cancer symptom, chances are it would be brownish/red, not the colors you describe. If your doctor suspected a breast cancer connection, I suspect s/he would have ordered a biopsy quite some time ago; so, odds are good this discharge hasn't been due to cancer, but to some other cause. Best of luck - I hope you get some closure on this soon. PJH
