Is there a connection between all my physical problems? breast cancer, fibromyalgia, myofascia

what's the underlying cause to all of this? I have fibromyalgia which seemed to begin after I contracted the parvovirus (fifth's disease) in my early 30's, chronic myofascial pain and dysfunction which affects me badly from neck to sacrum, I had two surgeries on each knee due to muscle problems, prolapse of my vaginal walls, uterus, cervix, bladder and rectum after my 1st pregnancy at 27, reconstruction of all of the above with a hysterectomy at 31, had my ovaries removed at 32 because my intestines had entrapped them due to scar tissue from my three previous abdominal surgeries, a history of endometriosis, falling arches in both feet, and now just diagnosed with breast cancer at 40. A doctor once suggested I had a connective tissue disease that affected all my organs but beyond that no one seems to make any connection. it scares me b/c I am always having a new physical problem pop up and unless i figure out what the connection is, I am afraid of what's next. I see a chiropractor, massage therapist, and thai massage therapist every week to manage my back, neck and leg pain (caused by active trigger points)and chest pain (costochondritis). I see a nutritionist twice a month to help me manage my gluten, dairy, egg, soy, yeast-free diet, a rheumatologist who prescribes lyrica (nerve pain), zanaflex (muscle tension), elavil (i have alpha wave intrusion sleep disorder), and darvocet (pain); a chiropractic internist who manages my cholesterol (originally 330), triglycerides (still 500), hypothyroidism which comes and goes, and constipation. Until a month ago, I also took a hormone replacement (estrogen/testosterone) due to the early menopause. I also have an elevated c-reactive protein level indicating inflammation in the body. does anyone know what kind of underlying problem could be resulting in all of this? I want to be healthier!

Sorry, we're not medical personnel here, simply survivors of breast cancer. So I don't think we can give you a satisfying answer. However, I will tell you that hormone replacement therapy (HRT) has been shown to raise your risk of breast cancer; and a compromised immune system may also raise your risk. Good luck - PJH

Hi,   I am sorry you are going through all of that! I have breast cancer that is estrogen receptive that was caused by using estrogen replacement therapy, premarin and estrodiol. The estrodiol was like gasoline on a fire. It got the cancer to grow much faster! Luckily it was caught in time. I have also had fibromyalgia for many years and just not felt well since 2005...also suspect connective tissue disease..my skin is as thin as tissue paper at 57 and also have many of the problems you describe. My muscles have become soft and mushy! I can't exercize like I used to and I am quickly getting deconditioned. Please make sure your cancer is not estrogen receptive. You could be feeding it with the hrt and making it grow! YOu should check with your dr. right away about this.     I also have invasive ductal carcinoma......jodi
