Cindy, my doctor administered the Taxol very slowly, and as I recall it took at least as long or longer than the AC.  I left work at lunch, and it usually took the rest of the afternoon.  As PJ mentioned, people are more likely to have an allergic reaction to Taxol than some of the other chemos, so they will give you the premeds and then watch you very carefully for the first part of the procedure.  One good thing about Taxol compared to AC is that it is less likely to make you nauseated.  My energy level was also better on Taxol than AC.  The only work I missed while on Taxol was for my medical appointments.  I didn't have the energy to go to work during most of AC.  Of course, everyone responds to medications differently.
