Nancy, it's an area of tissue that differs in density from normal breast tissue. Could be scar tissue, an infection, an obstructed milk duct, a cyst, a benign tumor - or, most unlikely, a cancerous tumor. I assume your doctor will want to find out more about these nodules; probably by starting with another mammogram, or perhaps an ultrasound. If you don't hear anything, follow up with your doctor to find out what next steps are. Good luck - odds are very high that this isn't cancer, so try not to worry too much, OK? PJH
