Q: connection of breast and ovarian cancer

Good day I just want to ask is there a connection in ovarian cancer and breast cancer? I am already subtotally hysterectomized(2005) and left oophorectomy(2007), 3 years after my surgery i had wierd symptoms, like its been 1 month when dymennorhea like pain started, i have spotting, painfull and burning sensation after s.. and the most recent is my right breast became so itchy for 2 days and after that became very heavy and painful up to this moment. i let my husband be the one to look for something round and he found one that when he pressed it, it was painful and i thick that is where the pain is coming from up to the nipples. Pls i need a very honest opinion

Hi - If you have the BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes, then yes, there's a very strong connection between breast and ovarian cancer. You wouldn't know about these genes, however, unless you were specifically tested for them. Anyway, it sounds like there's something going on in your breast that should be examined - please call a doctor, describe your symptoms, and make an appointment, OK? Good luck - PJH
