Hi Lindsay: No, an asymmetry in the breast is certainly not a guarantee of cancer, so put that thought right out of your mind! There are many causes for breast asymmetry, including cysts, scar tissue, and non-cancerous, benign growths. If you've had an ultrasound that reveals this, I'm sure your doctor will follow up with more tests to figure out what it is. But in the meantime — think positively. Even when lumps are serious enough to be biopsied, 85% are negative, OK? Good luck - PJH
