has anyone felt tightness in their calves while taking tamoxifen? i am worried about this being a sign of a blood clot. i am 41 and just started taking tamoifen 14 days ago i am curious to know what anyone else has felt while on tamoxifen

Hi Laura - I've never heard of tighness in the calves as a side effect. What about anyone else out there - have you experienced this? Be sure to report side effects to your doctor, Laura - (s)he will want to stay in close touch with this, same as with any new treatment you start. Good luck - PJH

Laura, I've never taken Tamoxifen, so I don't know if your pain is a side effect from that drug. If the pain is on both sides, I doubt it would be a blood clot. My doctors monitored me very closely for blood clots during and after my cancer treatment, so it is something to have checked out right away if you have pain and/or swelling in your leg.
