Hot tender breast. Tender lymph nodes in groin and dull cramping in ovaries?

I have an appt to see the Dr on Tue but I am really getting worried and thought I would ask. I got off birth control 3 months ago and have had two normal periods since. This last month I did not have a period and am now three weeks late. At first I thought I was having pregnancy symptoms: Headache, tender breast, Late period. But now I am worried it is something more. My breast in the evening are hot and extremely tender and bruised feeling. My lymph nodes in my groin are tender and I have a constant dull menstrual pain. I have taken two pregnany test but both are negative. Any thoughts?

Jennifer, generally both breasts showing the same symptoms at once doesn't indicate breast cancer. And breast cancer isn't usually painful, except inflammatory breast cancer, which would be make ONE breast swollen, hot, and show a red rash. The other symptoms you describe would have nothing to do with breast cancer. Good luck Tuesday - try to relax and believe everything will be OK. -PJH
