Q: any adverse reactions to a titanium marker clip after a biopsy?

I had a biopsy done on the breast and a Sensomark titanium clip was place in the breast to mark the spot. It itched for a while, that stopped. The following is now going on for about a year now.  I have a small raised mark on my breast, a yellow spot that seems to look like a thick scar, and white around the site with red around the white, now almost an inch in width, circular but not exactly round. a vein now shows on the breast.  all this is going on under the skin, the skin is smooth except for the raised mark.  One doctor said it looks almost as if the clip is trying to work its way out.  But he never has seen or heard of anything like this, a dermatologist also has not seen anything like this.  But he does not think the clip is trying to work its way out. would you have any information on this?  Should I have a mammogram done? and could you tell me what type of doctor should I see now?  I have seen a GP and a Dermatologist, I don't know who to see next or what to do.  These two doctors did not help any. My insurance will not cover where I had this done, so I have to go somewhere else.  any idea will help.  thank you.

Karen, the radiologist who put the clip in absolutely should be the one to take it out again, at this point; he or the surgeon. I don't know why they didn't take it out when you had your lumpectomy. Since it was just to mark the tumor spot - why is it still in there? So between the surgeon who did the lumpectomy, and the radiologist, one of them should be responsible for this. Since it's an existing problem, one left over from your original surgery, wouldn't insurance cover it, if they covered your initial procedure? Good luck - PJH
