Hi Laurenn - It's good that you're noticing changes in your breasts at your age - it's excellent practice for when you grow up, and this becomes a very important part of keeping yourself healthy. At your age, you'll experience lots and lots and LOTS of breast changes, as you go through puberty; everything seems new (because it is!), and it's hard to figure out what's "normal," and what might be something to have a doctor look at.
First, please read our message to teens; I'm sure it'll make you feel better. Then, read our guide to breast development, for lots of good information about what's actually happening to your breasts, as they grow and develop.
I can't tell you what the lump on your nipple is, but it doesn't sound like a breast cancer symptom; it wouldn't stick out sometimes, and then not. I'd say, keep your eye on it; if it seems to be getting worse - like, your entire nipple or your breast seems infected (red, hot, swollen, painful, itchy), then you should tell an adult about it, as you might have a small infection going.
If it seems to be getting larger, tell someone. Or if it doesn't disappear within several weeks, you might want to share your worries with your mom, or another adult you trust. You might decide a visit to the doctor would make you feel better. But in the meantime, please don't stress over cancer, OK? This is probably a temporary issue. Good luck - and remember, tell an adult if the bump changes in appearance, gets bigger, or doesn't disappear within a few weeks. Now, go out and have a great weekend! PJH
