Hi - Long-term use of an aromatase inhibitor, such as Arimidex, has been proved neither absolutely safe, nor unsafe - the data's just not there yet, it's too new. I'd think that 7 years on Arimidex, and with her age, she could  give it up. My onocolgist has recommended a 5-year course for me, so I'll be done next year. Does she have a new oncologist you could ask? Good luck - PJH
