Sunday, December 28, 2008 Patti asks

Q: I have hard fixed lump in m breast.

I noticed a lump in my breast almost a month ago.  It is very hard and is not moveable.  It is also painful.  It has grown since I first noticed it. Should I be concerned?

Yes, Patti, you should be concerned—not panicked, concerned. While most breast lumps are nothing to worry about, about 15% that get to the biopsy stage are cancer. So best to call the doctor and see what's up. Good luck - PJH
