palpable but normal lymph nodes

I went in to have a yearly exam and the surgeon said he feels nothing out of the ordinary. He ordered an ultrasound and said that the lymph nodes under my arms are palpable but within the normal range for a woman my age but wants to see inside the breast deeper to make sure nothing has been missed. I had a mammogram 7 months ago that was fine but now this adds new worry. what do you make of this? Is it normal for lymph nodes to be palpable as he said without being a problem. He said the one side is more than the other but that both are palpable.

Lynnsie, my answer is the same as it was for your earlier question: have another mammogram to track any changes, and have an ultrasound to see what's going on. Better to DO something than simply worry—worrying doesn't move you forward. Best of luck - PJH
