Last week i found a painful lump in my right breast.  the dr felt it and ordered a mammogram so i went for the mammogram and it showed nothing was there.  Even tho you can clearly feel the lump and it is still very painful.  So im confused.  should i ask my dr. to give me an ultrasound if she doesnt suggest it?

Yes, Jenny, ask your doctor to pursue this. An ultrasound would be the logical next step. You want to find out what this is, and whether it's something you can safely let subside by itself (a cyst), or an infection, or what. Probably not cancer, as a mammogram should have showed that, but you don't want to just ignore this. Good luck - PJH
