Myths of Chemotherapy

(Page 2)

Myth #4: Chemo always results in debilitating fatigue – There is little escape from the cumulative effects of chemo on a person’s energy level. However, there are conditions which allow for the use of a new generation of medications that help to increase red blood cell counts and thereby the amount of energy-giving oxygen in the blood. Ask your treatment team if you qualify for this treatment. If you are not eligible for this type of medication, you can still pay close attention to your daily patterns of energy and plan your activities during the time when you are likely to have the most energy.
