Meet Emily: Behind the Scenes at Breast Cancer Connections

Have a question about the site, or a suggestion for how to make it better? Emily's the one who will incorporate your ideas and let you know about the exciting projects coming up at Breast Cancer Connections.

Hi! My name is Emily and I’m the one behind the scenes at Breast Cancer Connections. I work closely with our experts, bloggers, writers and readers to create the most helpful and trustworthy breast cancer support site on the Web. Our main goal at Breast Cancer Connections is to create a place where you feel you can find community, the latest information, and support as you cope with a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, and caring for loved ones going through the breast cancer experience. We strive to serve the needs of you and your loved ones, so I welcome as much feedback as you can send my way. Just e-mail me at feedback@breastcancerconnections.com.

So how did I end up here at Breast Cancer Connections? My immediate family has been touched by breast cancer several times and just last summer I watched a loved one go through surgery and treatment, so this is an issue that has a special place in my heart. Professionally, I've worked for several years to increase health awareness, focusing on women's health issues, mental health, and public health (I started off thinking I would become a doctor, but my college science classes cured me of that!), and I’ve also been involved in newspaper and magazine journalism. Since joining the HealthCentral team, I've become more and more concerned about health issues that women face, and I'm excited to focus on creating an excellent breast cancer site and to serve as a resource to you and the Breast Cancer Connections community.

This site exists to serve your needs, so I look forward to hearing from you. Please send any questions, comments or concerns my way at feedback@breastcancerconnections.com, and if you’d like to get involved with the site, by all means, let me know!
