Drug Interactions


Generic Name: ZOLEDRONIC ACID - INJECTION
Pronounced: (ZOLE-eh-dron-ick acid)

Zometa IV Interactions

Your doctor or pharmacist may already be aware of any possible drug interactions and may be monitoring you for them. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with your doctor or pharmacist first.

Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription/herbal products you may use, especially of:

  • mineral supplements (especially those containing calcium, magnesium, or phosphorus)


Also tell your doctor or pharmacist of drugs that may be harmful to your kidneys such as:

  • aminoglycoside antibiotics (e.g., gentamicin, tobramycin)
  • amphotericin B
  • cyclosporine
  • nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs such as ibuprofen)
  • tacrolimus
  • vancomycin
  • certain "water pills" (loop diuretics such as bumetanide or furosemide)
