Researchers in Pennsylvania say that compounds found in broccoli and cabbage may hold a key for helping to prevent melanoma. In a recent study, the scientists found that when the compound was combined with the mineral selenium, it was able to stop the growth of skin cancer tumors in mice by 60 percent. The study's authors say the naturally occurring compound could one day be used in sunscreens, may lead to new treatment for the cancer.
