A new study has found that letrozole (Femara) increases survival more than tamoxifen for postmenopausal women who have undergone surgery. In the study of 8,000 women with hormone receptor-positive breast cancer, researchers found that women who had five years of straight letrozole survived longer than women who took tamoxifen, or women who started with tamoxifen and moved on to letrozole.
