Hypnosis may cool hot flashes in breast cancer survivors

Breast cancer survivors who still endure hot flashes may be helped by undergoing hypnosis, a new study has found. Researchers at Baylor University assigned 60 breast cancer survivors to either five weekly sessions of hypnosis or to no treatment at all. The women who were given hypnotherapy sessions that included cooling imagery had a 68 percent decrease in the frequency and severity of hot flashes. They also reported less anxiety and depression, and better sleep than the group who did not undergo hypnosis.  Read full story >
