Men often not told severity of wife's cancer

A Swedish study has found that many men are not told about the
severity of their wife's cancer. In fact, 40 percent of the 691
widowers questioned in the study say they were never told that
their spouse's cancer was incurable, or they were told only in the
final week of her life. Experts say that this trend in health
information communication is the same in the United States and
other countries, and that it leaves men unprepared for the death of
their spouse.
