FDA accepts application for new Osteoporosis med

(Reuters) UPDATED 2009-02-19

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has accepted an application for the new osteoporosis medication denosumab. Drugmaker Amgen has applied to use denosumab as a treatment for postmenopausal osteoporosis, and for the prevention of bone loss in patients with prostate and breast cancer.
