FDA accepts application for new Osteoporosis med

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has accepted an application for the new osteoporosis medication denosumab. Drugmaker Amgen has applied to use denosumab as a treatment for postmenopausal osteoporosis, and for the prevention of bone loss in patients with prostate and breast cancer. The FDA is expected to make a decision on the drug by October 19, 2009.  Read full story >
