Lifestyle, screening has changed breast cancer over time

Lifestyle changes and improved screenings have changed the type of breast cancer women are diagnosed with, a new study suggests. Scottish researchers say that cancer is more likely to be estrogen-receptor positive now than it has been historically. Researchers say that factors such as late child-bearing, obesity after menopause, and hormone replacement therapy may account for the increase in hormone-based tumors. And improved screening processes probably account for a decreased death-rate from breast cancer in general.
