Timing, type of HRT may determine breast cancer risk

The timing and type of hormone replacement therapy menopausal women receive appears to determine their risk for breast cancer, a new study has found. Researchers found that women who started estrogen-progestagen HRT in the two years after menopause had a 54 percent increased risk of breast cancer when compared with women who didn't take HRT. But women who took estrogen-progesterone HRT did not appear to have the increased risk.
